ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (January 21, 2010): Western Union (NYSE: WU), a leader in global payment services, and the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce recently unveiled a new free-access Website to help black entrepreneurs finance, launch, market and grow their own companies. The National Black Business Information Clearinghouse (Black BIC) will serve as a resource for entrepreneurs seeking basic but substantive information, Western Union and the Chamber of Commerce said at an event last week in Washington, D.C.
The Website, www.BlackBIC.org, offers a wealth of information and links to additional sources in the primary areas of finance, marketing, management and technology. Visitors can learn how to write business plans, structure basic accounting and income statements, design and implement marketing plans, and access minority or disadvantaged certification programs. Much of the information on the site is localized, allowing, for example, a Denver-based, Dallas-based or Baltimore-based business to find specific information on relevant state and local programs and resources.
